Egypt's sports and youth minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhi has offered on Saturday his heartfelt condolences over the death of the former EFA's spokesman Azmy Megahed.

Megahed, Zamalek's former volleyball's star, passed away earlier today after suffering severe complications of COVID-19.

On his official Facebook page, Sobhi sent his sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the Egyptian Sports in general, and volleyball in particular, over Megahed's death, who is considered as one Zamalek's and volleyball's symbols.

"Captain Azmy Megahed has given a lot to Egypt and Egyptian sports," the sports minister said.

Months ago, he had announced that he intends to run for the Zamalek's presidential elections.
